Work Life Happiness
Work Life Happiness is filled with the stories of women who have led happy lives in spite of, and sometimes in part because life’s tribulations lead them on a path they would not otherwise have taken. These are not necessarily the strongest or even the bravest women. Rather, they are ordinary people, like you and me. What sets them apart is that they were able to integrate their experiences into the narrative of their own lives. I have also included stories of women who have always been happy—women who know how to take a good life and make it even better.
In this track you will explore the following four modules:
- Happiness can be yours!
- Perfectionism is a challenge blocking happiness
- Wanton Wanting: Money can’t buy happiness
- Circling the Career Track: Happiness and Careers
Each professional track is self-paced. You can start and stop at any time, completing it in one day or over the course of weeks. If you plan to tackle a module in one sitting, expect it to take 30 to 45 minutes with the whole track taking two to four hours to complete. Repeat or skip sections as desired. Most of all, enjoy your experience, and retain those skills and connections most pertinent to helping you succeed.
You will begin with a self-assessment quiz that will help establish your baseline understanding of the topic. Upon completion of the professional track you will be asked to complete your own action plan to use to apply your learnings and strengthen your development progress.
Supplementing the written, audio and video content for each track is a Network Circle. The circle, composed of the track’s author and others participating in the professional track, serves as forum for discussion. Network Circles act as a drop box for questions and comments as you finish each module; you will get a chance to state your observations, ask questions, share life experiences and initiate dialog on the topics. Network Circle comments are emailed to all network circle members for discussion participation. Studies show that interacting with others and sharing real-life situations amplifies the strength of online training. Participating in Network Circles is key to the success of your learning experience. For your convenience, the circle comments window is located at the end of each module. To view or participate in the Network Circle at any point during your visit, click the Visit Network Circle button adjacent to the Next/Previous tabs at the bottom of each page.
Feedback for us is crucial and can be delivered through track evaluations at the end of each professional track. Answering these fully and honestly helps us to develop knowledge tools and grow the community you need to meet your professional objectives.
